April 2017 Favorites
I am so excited to be writing this post because this is actually my first favorites post!
I probably won’t do these every month because I don’t feel like I have a ton of new products each month to talk about and I do not want to ramble on about the same products each time (because that would be
really majorly annoying)… but whenever I get a group of products during a month that I feel like have really been loving I will most definitely share them with you!
I have never used a serum in my past, and now I really regret it! The Art Naturals vitamin C Serum was actually the first serum that I have ever tried — which I started using about a month ago — and now my life and skin is forever changed! This Vitamin C serum is supposed to brighten the skin and even reduce fine lines and wrinkles. My skin tends to scar pretty easily from acne, because… let’s be honest, I pick any pimple that pops up on the surface of my face… It’s a bad habit but hard to break! After using this serum for just a week, I could tell that my skin was more even toned and my acne scars were fading. It is like a skincare blessing in a bottle (and I am not over-exaggerating either)!
Now, I know I am talking about this product as one of my April favorites, but I have actually been using this hair care product for quite some time now (like a little over a year to be a bit more exact). The African Essence Oil treats hair damage and dead ends for a silky smooth finish. With being a girl and all… we like to damage our hair a lot from hair irons, blow drying, and dying our hair a million colors (guilty as charged)! I used to do all of these things and my hair was left brittle and with an insane amount of dead ends. There are a ton of hair oils out there that people claim work their hair but that is not the case for me. My hair is super thin and becomes oily really fast!
I have tried so many hair oils but all of them just made my hair feel greasy and disgusting until I tried this one! The African Essence oil is lightweight and non-greasy which, right after applied, it soaks into the hair strand instead of sitting on the surface of it — giving it a greasy look!
I am pretty new at doing my brows so I have been on a search for some good brow products that I take a liking to. My first ever brow product that I bought was the Anastasia Dipbrow which I bought in the shade taupe, but it was a tad dark for me so I have to apply it lightly and I really have to work at my brows with that product. After trying the Dipbrow and it being a little difficult to me, I though I would try a pencil type brow product and I thought… what better one to try out than the Anastasia Brow Wiz? Let me just tell you, It was love at first sight! I am not a person who wants super dark and dramatic brows so I bought the blonde shade in-which was the perfect color for me! This brow pencil applied so easily and gave me such a natural brow. It is definitely the perfect beginner’s brow
pencil product FOR SURE!
I have been obsessed with copper colors lately so when I received this beautiful copper pigment from Naked Cosmetics in my Ipsy glam bag, I was one happy girl! This pigment is insanely vibrant and metallic (in my video I swatch this beauty – check it out and the end of this post). A little goes a long way with this product so be careful as it is a loose eye pigment! This is probably one of my favorite products that I have received from Ipsy, and they have sent me some pretty awesome products!
If you aren’t already subscribed to the Ipsy glam bag, you definitely should be! All you you do is sign up, answer some questions about yourself and then you get 5 products a month for only $10! WHAT A STEAL! Not only do you get 5 different products a month that are personally picked out for you and the answers to your questions, you get a super cute bag too that goes with the theme for that month! Also, when you receive the 5 products each month, you can go on their website (or app) to review the products you received in exchange for points towards free products! Since I have light skin I have been trying to find a contour palette that has a bronzing shade that isn’t too dark, and now I have found the perfect one! The Wet N Wild MegaGlo Contouring Palette is the perfect shade and blends out beautifully! The bronze shade give such a subtle definition to the face and the light shade helps to really carve out the contour as well as highlight under the eyes! I have heard so many YouTubers talking about this palette so I just had to give this a try — especially since it was only $4.99 — and I am so happy I did!
I actually received this product in my Ivy Vox Box from Influenster complimentary to try out. My lips are always chapped it feels like so I always have chapstick on me at all times but I still had not found one that really treated my lips until now. The chapstick duos have a wonderful scent to them and make my lips feel soft after just one day of use! My favorite thing about this product is that you can connect two different chapstick scents together, hence the name “duos”!
If you don’t know what Influenster is… You can download their app, sign up, and connect your social media accounts! Once that is done you start reviewing products through the app and interacting on their social media accounts. Then you can get the chance to receive free products in what they call a Vox Box! You can sign up here if you are interested! Super Easy!
Finally, the last favorite of the month (and one of my favorites out of them all) is “The Comforter” bubble bar from Lush! You can never go wrong with Lush but with this bubble bar I have started an obsession… as you can tell from the picture of the 1/4th of the bubble bar. I have always used lush bath bombs but this was a first for a bubble bar and I am converted! The Comforter bubble bar has a delightful scent of bubble gum that I have to contain myself with because it smells so good that I want to eat it! The thing I like about bubble bars is that you get multiple uses out of them and, in particular, this one is pretty big so you get more uses out of it than even some of the other bubble bars!
