Cure Acne Naturally With Apple Cider Vinegar
Everyone wants to find those natural remedies to cure their acne without any harsh chemicals and treatments. Some of them work and some of them don’t. Some ‘natural’ remedies actually can be harmful for the skin! YIKES! I have tried so many different natural remedies to try to clear up my skin but none of them have worked until now!
Most acne does not just come from what happens on the surface of your skin. It usually is caused from something from within your body such as the foods you eat, the bad habits you have (aka smoking and drinking alcohol), and especially from an imbalance of hormones. This is why sometimes topical products and cleansers don’t always clear up your acne fully and can actually disrupt the skin even more! Today I am going to be talking about a miracle product that has saved my life by getting rid of acne and clearing up the skin from within the body… Yep, you heard me right, from within the body! Along with clearing up acne from within, it can also be used to clear up acne from the surface of the skin as well instead of using harmful cleansers and treatments from the store. I am going to share with you two ways to clear up your skin naturally with apple cider vinegar!
The most popular way to cure acne with apple cider vinegar is to simply make a drink with it. It acts as a detox for the body by flushing out toxins and balancing pH levels. At first, your skin will start to purge (aka breakout) as it brings all the toxins to the surface of the skin. Your skin will start to clear up once the apple cider vinegar has done its job of removing all the toxins and bacteria from within the body. By sticking to a routine of drinking the apple cider vinegar concoction regularly, it will not only clear up acne but keep it away! Of course, there are many other benefits that come with drinking apple cider vinegar but that will have to be explained in another post – otherwise this would be one long post!
After some serious researching, I found that our skin has what’s called an acid mantle which becomes damaged when we use those harsh chemicals that are found in the cleansers and acne treatments that we all use on our skin. The acid mantle is supposed to help protect us from germs, bacteria, and pollutants but can’t do so when it is harmed from all the chemicals in our cleansers. Instead of these special “acne curing” cleansers actually helping get rid of acne, they are causing more by damaging the acid mantle and letting more bacteria enter the skin which is the main source of acne! Apple cider vinegar actually cures acne because it restores the acid mantle by returning the acidity to the skin. It also acts as a exfoliate as it removes dead skin cells and gets rid of acne causing bacteria – who needs all those expensive microdermabrasion machines and treatments when you can just reach in your pantry and use a natural, inexpensive product? No one! Because, to be honest, you most likely have this product in your pantry all ready.
I have personally used this product for about almost a year now and it has seriously helped me clear up my skin and make my skin overall more even toned! I see so many people start to use apple cider vinegar and seeing the wonderful results in their skin appearance! When using buying apple cider vinegar, make sure it is raw, unfiltered, and comes with the mother in it. I like to buy the Braggs Organic Apple Cider Vinegar brand. There are two ways to use apple cider vinegar to treat your acne: Drinking it and/or using it like a toner.
Apple Cider Vinegar Drink
Now, I know what you’re thinking… “Danielle, how the heck am I going to be able to drink apple cider vinegar when I cannot even stand the smell of it?”. There is no way I would ever tell someone to drink this by itself – even though some people do (I know, crazy right?!). We all know that apple cider vinegar has a strong, pungent odor to it as well as a not so delightful taste. This is why it is recommended to mix it with water and add other things if desired to enhance the taste of the drink.
To make the apple cider vinegar drink, take a glass and fill with some ice cubes. Then, fill half way with water and add a tablespoon of the apple cider vinegar (or more if you would like and can handle it). Finally, add any type of fruit and/or natural sweeteners to get the desired taste you want. I like to add a slice of lemon and some cinnamon to my apple cider vinegar drink! Don’t ask me why or how, but it tastes somewhat like a faint apple pie drink to me! I drink once cup of this per day (with the occasional skip of course) and it helps detox my body to clear up toxins and bad bacteria from within.
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner
The second way to clear up acne is to use apple cider vinegar as a toner. Instead of using those harsh toners that have chemicals in them, switch them out for an apple cider vinegar toner that is super simple to make! Take a clear glass or plastic container (with a cap) and add your desired amount of the apple cider vinegar depending on how much toner you are planning to make. I use is a three ounce plastic container, that I purchased from the travel section of my local grocery store, and add two tablespoons of the vinegar. If you have sensitive skin I would recommend using less apple cider vinegar. The next step is to then dilute the apple cider vinegar with distilled or filtered water. Follow a ratio of one part vinegar to about two or three parts water. You might have to test out the ratio to get the perfect ratio for your skin. Lastly, once you have your toner ratio all figured out, grab a cotton pad or cotton ball, add a small amount of the toner, and apply to the entire face after cleansing. Then, after the toner is completely dry on the skin, you can apply any other facial products or moisturizers you wish to use!
Both of these apple cider vinegar tips will help keep bad bacteria and toxins out of your skin and body which, in return, will clear up acne and prevent it in the future (with regular use of course). Now, I’m not going to tell you that this will work for everyone and every type of acne… because it won’t… but if you tried almost every acne hack in the book to try and clear up your skin, this just might work for you!
